Not really a flower person!
No. Never really been a flower person. Not even in my most romantic phases. Never really seen the point of them. I always figured if a guy buys a girl some flowers, he's got something to hide. It was often an opinion supported by reports from pals, who,
when asked the question:
"OMG....so what did you do?"...would often reply:
"Well, I bought her some flowers didn't I!".
In fact, I recall having a bet with one pal who, amazed that I hadn't bought B flowers in our first few years together, bet me £5 she wouldn't react the way I guaranteed she would if I did. So, I duly went and bought her flowers and she reacted exactly as I had predicted. The next time we all met up, he asked B if I had ever bought her flowers, to which she replied:
"Once". His jaw dropped, and astounded asked,
"...and what did you say when he gave them to you?". A suspicious look came over her face as she anticipated she was about to become the butt of a joke. She turned and gave me her look. I just shrugged my shoulders in an attempt to convince her I knew nothing. Still uncertain, she turned back and replied:
"I asked him what he had done....he told me 'nothing'. Why, didn't he buy them - what did he do?"....she quizzed.
He shook his head, opened his wallet and threw a fiver at me. I, of course, gave it to her! I'm not a complete ogre!!
So to the point, not being a flower person, I have no idea what this particular bush is in my garden, B seems to think it's an Elder bush, but I'm no help. Perhaps some blippers could help us out here. I couldn't decide upon which shot to show you, so I decided on a montage, aided by the fact that in two of them, I had visitors as I was shooting. I didn't hunt them out, but was already shooting when the bee just landed in my lens view bottom left, and in the top right, I hadn't even noticed the little fella until I was processing the shots! (You may have to view LARGE to see him yourself).
I also thought it was apt to shoot flowers as I hadn't managed to visit Sam in the week....which BTW, thank you all for your kind messages yesterday and indeed earlier in the year.
And you'll all be glad to know that I've mellowed in my old age....I now always buy B flowers....whenever she asks me to!
