Constellation

If we're talking independent record labels, then Constellation should be considered the modern archetype. A carefully selected roster of bands, every release featuring a lovingly crafted cardboard sleeve and until recently they deliberately avoided having any of their output stocked in major record shops. Their background and ethos is well worth further reading - I'd recommend grabbing the archive of plan b mag and having a read of the article in the final issue or take a look at the transcripts. Despite this being a record label I admire, I haven't purchased many of their releases beyond GSYBE, Clues and Pan Am. I think I ought to remedy that ASAP.

* this photo involved me diving over my camera wearing a GSYBE t-shirt, an attempt to recreate the constellations! It was only after I'd finished jumping around like a loon that I realised I could have left the t-shirt (and me) static and just moved the camera around!
