Crosswords and crazy grannys
Left London relatively sharp-ish this morning and Corin drove us all the way back. Two stops for coffe, but otherwise straight through and I managed to sleep for half of it.
Home, cooked a lovely risotto which I then didn't want much of, before heading over to Liverpool to see Nana and my mum (Spanny granny) before mum heads back home tomorrow.
Important things were sorted - the missing crossword clue which had Corin thinking hard for a minute. There were some shenanigans with Spannygranny which made James run for the hills (or rather the boot of the car) and an opportunity to get Jim, Coz and Nana together in a photo that reminded my Nana of a famous sketch by the Two Ronnies, with John Cleese (which for the life of me I cannot find on Youtube). EDIT - it was located by my cousin ....The original Two Ronnies sketch
Other things were not resolved - the organisation of lifts to Leicester for Saturday...we'll figure it - nana being stubborn, not wanting to do things a particular way because "she doesn't like it" but not wanting us to change our plans because that's not fair on us - she wouldn't accept that somewhere along the way at least one group of family will have to make a compromise to get her there, and that we will do that willingly - instead, there was a brief moment of championship dummy spitting. However, we left with an instruction to her that she will be coming and that between us we will get her there! Then we drove off before she could argue.
We love you Nana!
