sketchy shiitake 'shrooms

It's been one hour since I ate two mushrooms I harvested from my shiitake mushroom log, and I'm still alive. No strange stomach pains yet, so that's a plus. My final verdict on eating homegrown mushrooms will have to wait till tomorrow, though, since there's no telling what'll happen to my digestive system in the next 12 hours.

As for the mushrooms themselves: not bad. Not bad at all. Unfortunately, they tasted a little bland, but that was most likely due to the fact that I boiled them in water for 30 minutes before eating them, just to be safe. The caps had this strange chalk-like layer of dust on them... I think it's best if I remain ignorant of what that stuff really was, and continue to think of it as "dust".
