Sycamore Square

This is the interior of Sycamore Square, Fairhaven's oldest building, completed in 1890. Originally named the Mason Block, it was designed as an office building with residential space on the top floor and commercial space on the ground floor.

The Cascade Club, an exclusive men-only social club, was one of the original tenants and entertained many distinguished guests, including Mark Twain and President William Howard Taft.

Bellingham's first public library was located in the building from 1891 until the completion of the Carnegie Library in 1904.
