Afternoon Snack

Some pears, pinto beans, and piled on cottage cheese -- that's what Chloe, Mitzi, and Max requested this afternoon. These three are thinking summer afternoons are looking pretty good. When I put them outside so they could have a poolside treat and a "table" with a view, I think they were all a little unsure about the "he" whale "eyeballing" them as they munched.

This has been a lovely sunny mild temperatured day. My first Monday of my first week of summer vacation. Today's biggest activity was inactivity. A little shopping, a little banking, a little reading -- very enjoyable.

Our granddaughter Ashly is coming to spend the night and learn the "ropes" of taking care of these three because beginning this Sunday when we leave for a week of family camp on Catalina Island, she will be caring for them. I hope she's ready for a zillion licks and kisses; making their afternoon snacks to their liking; and doing "poop patrol" in the backyard! ;-)

We're going to have Ashly sleep in our bed tonight and we are going to sleep in the guest room so that Ash gets the full effect of the pups waking at 6:00 a.m. (which will feel like o-dark-thirty to Ash). We think the pups will like having Ash here this next week much better than staying at the kennel.

Ash is due here soon. The pups can hardly wait. They want to make sure she knows about breakfast, afternoon snack , and the evening dinner routine. Eating is their biggest thrill all day. ;-)
