Black Moon

Total lunar eclipse plus volcanic ash

I love to catch the full moon setting, but today it was a once in a lifetime event.  Not only was it in full eclipse, but the ash cloud from Chile's volcanoes was so bad that the airport was closed.  As the moon sank lower toward the hills it slowly turned black.  By the time it reached the hilltop I could not see it at all.

Another lovely day, but we were not very lively.
