Chessington World of Adventures

An early start this morning. My son and his school friends had arranged to meet at Chessington with their Spanish exchanges. Whilst waiting for all the friends to arrive, I heard one of the mums speak Welsh with her son. (My son had said that there was another Welsh speaker in his year). I went over to say hello and she recognised me. When the boys were toddlers, we used to meet at a Welsh playgroup every Saturday morning. We had lost touch and I think the last time I saw her was about 10 years ago.

I told my son to stay with his Spanish exchange and that I'd meet them by the exit gates at 5pm. When I arrived to pick them up there was no sign of his Spanish exchange. They had all gone their separate ways as soon as they'd gone into the park. The Spaniards went one way and the Brits went another! There had also been an incident with some of the kids being taken into security, They had been throwing sweets at one of the rides and had cut someone's lip. The Spanish teachers will not be impressed on Monday.

We came home and had dinner. Our exchange then wanted to go and see her friend so I dropped them off at the friend's house.

My daughters went kayaking this afternoon and just managed to miss the horrendous downpour.
