Where's everyone else?

It was raining when Lynn and I got to the High Pond late this afternoon and the first thing we saw and heard was this little duckling. The female duck in the distance paid no attention to the plaintive calls.

The Canada geese goslings are growing fast - tail feathers coming in. We were also delighted to see dabchick chicks coming off their nest, swimming a little and then going back on to it and under Mum's wing - there were at least three of them. Of comparable excitement was seeing a pair of blackcaps.
