The lights are going out all over the High Street

...we may not see them lit again in our lifetime. A variant on Churchill's speech serving as a prelude to The Specials "Ghost Town". I have to say it was a little sad walking around the local town centre during my lunch hour today. I normally walk a rapid triangle between Sainsburys, Starbucks and the office but walked around the back streets today. A lot of boarded up and to let spaces, and this odd abandoned shop window with two fans fallen in the dust and two upright and shiny.

You couldn't help but think that people had just walked out on this place  when the going got too tough.
