The longest night

Last night was the longest night in more ways than one.

The 2234hrs 5.4 express has left us all feeling tired and on edge. Another 11 or so aftershocks continued through the night depriving us of sleep and/or quality sleep. If you do sleep it's broken and shallow as you're tense and primed.

Some parts of town felt it more strongly than others. For me nothing new happened, for others I know they're not as fortunate. Our collective unease grows. I have enough adrenaline floating around my body to flee a tiger or two.

I wonder if the fractured earth beneath us resembles the bark on this tree?
