Sports Day
Emma's school is rather competitive when it comes to sporting activities, they are always trying to hoover up every shield or cup available to them in this part of the county. The upper school's sports day is coming soon and is run with military precision and is reminiscent of a mini Olympics. They'll be dope testing soon, mark my words.
The lower school, that is Reception and Years 1 & 2, is more an entry level Jeux Sans Frontieres, (without Stuart Hall). All the classes are divided into four teams and each game is timed so that the children rotate the activity until the bell is rung, then they move on to another game. The sack race, egg & spoon, obstacle, coconut races and goal-scoring activity were fun, but I think Emma enjoyed the bouncing race best.
During the last few games, we could hear thunder rumbling ever closer. Just as all the children had sat down on the field to hear who had won and see the shield presentation, the heavens opened with lightning seemingly chasing the children back to their classrooms.
