The Vespa Club
How do they do it? In this delightful heat all the bikers are out on a road trip to Queensferry in full leathers. That's got to produce a certain amount of unnecessary chaffing?
This little line of Vespa's took my fancy. So well looked after, gleaming in the sunshine with their little handle bars looking like a smiling female alien.
One of the Harley bikers passed by, the writing on the back of his T-shirt had us laughing: 'If you can read this, the bitch fell off'. Made mum and I chuckle. We ate ice creams and talked about times when there were no bridges only a Ferry. Mum and Dad used to come out on a Sunday from Leith and take th Ferry over and back. If they were rich enough, they would stretch to a 'poke' of chips before catching the bus home. Ellen was enthralled by this as she is with all stories of her Grandparent's youth.
Tom went off to Scout camp yesterday. This is perfect weather for dib dib dobbing. As PL he is in charge of the cooking for his patrol. Poor boy and poor babies, he can't cook to save himself and I had promised him a crash course last week. I only hope the biscuits I stuck into his rucksack are keeping the hunger at bay!
