Cornhole
[Updated 7/4/11]
In Chicago, we have car shows, where people walk around a parking lot or a closed-off street and admire the antique cars parked in neat rows. Wyandotte, Michigan takes it a notch higher. Over there, people camp out on the side of the road and watch the antique cars drive on by (along with normal cars just passing by) for an entire day. I saw many, many, many custom-made cars, trucks, and motorcycles, as well as classic cars. In a way, it was uplifting and inspiring to watch people beam while driving their prized possession, knowing that thousands of people are watching them, oohing and ahhing over the result of their hard work. Only in Detroit, the home of the auto industry, would such an event take place!
Besides the dream cruise, I spent the weekend with my hosts, Jesse and Josh. There's nothing like sitting around a bonfire, drinking alcohol and talking about a whole array of topics.
