Warning from Lily!

They're here in the north - the lily beetle. Note the red little critter in the top right of picture. About 2 years ago our neighbour informed the RHS that the dreaded beetle had appeared. Apparently, due to climatic conditions it is travelling northwards so if you are beyond North Yorkshire look out. This one didn't survive long after the picture was taken! They are very destructive and both grubs and beetles eat the leaves destroying the plant.
We had a torrential thunderstorm this afternoon which lasted about 10 minutes then out came the sun. Funny weather. I'm off to York Theatre Royal this evening to see 'Two Planks and a Passion'. Intriguing title - it's about the history and people of York as related to the mystery plays famously performed in the city's museum gardens. Should be fun!
