My Artistic License
Today I had to go downtown to renew my driver's license. Then I decided I would walk to Pioneer Square to see a friend's show at a gallery there. First I passed through Occidental Park which was full of fun things - I love these tree sweaters- this artist wanted to brighten the square which is full of trees and has been so gloomy with the Seattle weather. It's the Seattle Parks and Recreation along with some other arts organizations--giving the grants. One artist was just setting up her booth giving out 'Universal Artistic License" what a kick! Having just posed for the mug shot for my driver's license(I hope their photo is better!) I thought YES - 2 in one day! If you can't read it, it ways "this license entitles you to be creative in any way, at any time, as long as no harm is done to you, others or any property" .
Then I just stayed on the bus on the way home to visit the Henry Art Gallery at the UW -The Digital Eye-PHotographic Art in the electronic Age -so much to think about I had to buy the book to read at my "leisure" next week -.AND that's not all - there was also a small exhibit of Artist's books, my absolute other great love. OMG. Such stimulation.
So my brain/mind is on mega visual overload! I need calm. Tonight a 50th anniversary party for good friends and tomorrow I take the 3 older grandchildren with me to the island for a week! Whew. It will be quieter even with them there - and no Blue Angels screaming overhead , practicing for Seafair weekend.
