Splendiferous
40 degrees in the shade at 12pm.
3 dips in the pool to cool down.
Much sunbathing and reading.
Not much to eat - too hot.
Despite this, Corin continued on his mission to paint the exterior walls of Mum's property.
Then this evening, we went to Guadarmar del Segura. They have a lovely night market which we go to every year. It is kind of traditional. Usually, we have a mooch, a coffee and then come home.
Tonight, we had food, coffee, mooched, and then James sat for 20 minutes without moving or speaking whilst he had his portrait done. It was wonderful to watch him being created on paper, with charcoal, by this gentle spanish man who spoke only once and who communicated through body language, gesture and at the end, with a nod and a twinkle in his eye when I could barely contain my gratitude at what a wonderful job he had done. For 20 Euros.
Then ice cream for James, followed by him mooching off with mum to go and buy presents for his friends to take home, and also came back with a lovely ring for me. We then went and got henna tattoos (as we do every year). On the way back, he told Corin that he really wanted to buy him something and so Corin now has another piece of ear/nose jewellery!
Oh, and I got a lovely leather satchel which Corin spotted (good taste) and has subsequently commandeered as his very own man-bag.
It's been a lovely evening. Thanks Mum and Roy for taking us there. Lie in tomorrow methinks!!!
