Birthday Cake

We left T to start the harvesting of oats up behind the house and set off to meet N's godson and his family for a luncheon party. It was H's 21st birthday and since all his family were down from uni for the summer, and one son had managed to fly back from Turkey, we celebrated during the day. The lunch was first class at a small hotel owned by Duncan Ballentyne (of Dragon's Den fame). Afterwards we drove back to their home for champagne, cake and home-grown raspberries. The weather was kind and we sat outside in the garden. It was lovely catching up on news and the day was a real treat!

Meanwhile back at the ranch, poor T had to stop combining the oats as they were too damp - 16 1/2 per cent moisture. Instead he baled what was left of the linseed. He then supped on take-away fish and chips - which he thoroughly enjoyed!
