Catch a Wave

Dining with a view was our goal, so we drove toward the coast late this afternoon to get a "take-out" dinner at Baja Fresh and sit on the bluff overlooking the Newport/Balboa Channel.

Dinner was delicious; the view was stunning, and the cool temperature was refreshing. We watched the rowing team from UCI, the arrival of the Catalina Island Express, the towboat bring in the huge empty barge that was taken to the back bay which is continually dredged and the full barge then transported to Catalina Island, and lots of sailboats, and the huge waves on the far side of the channel at a place called "The Wedge."

After we finished dinner, we decided to drive over to Balboa Island to walk the perimeter, to see all the lovely houses , the water-craft, and to get some exercise. It was a fun evening.
