must try harder

What a good day!!!

First. Our Gussy got his GCSE results today...and is the proud owner of 8 GCSE's! Well Done Gussy. We're all very proud of you! Got all the grades you needed, and more, to get into Esher College. Go gussy go!

Not bad, seeing as at the age of 10, your tosser of a delightful (and amazingly PC - not!) primary school teacher told us you were , quote, "unteachable!", unquote!. Well you sure showed her! Stick that in your pipe and smoke it Mrs F*%$$%* Nose!

Well done Gussy. This is your day!

Second. You may remember from a previous blip, our poor Joe missed out on his required A for his University place by just ONE measly mark!. We had to pay out £140 for a remark. It's been a very depressing week for us all.

We heard today. He didn't get that extra mark....he got another 10% of marks!!!!, taking him well into an A!...so he can go to the ball! Relief and happiness all round! We (and his tutors) confess to having been a bit surprised at him not getting an A in the first place. The angst they had put us through.

I must say, how they can have been 10% out, I'm not sure. He went from 95 to 107 marks out of 120. OK, not an A*, but well into A. I wonder how many students across the UK either didn't think it was worth it, or didn't have the means to be able to remark??

At least we'll get our money back for that remark!

So a good day all round. Well done Joe on your remark, but today's blip is of our Gussy, and the effort it took for him to move himself from 0% in an English test when he was 11 (he just didn't bother to write anything - it was all too stressful for him) to achieving 8 GCSE's today....including a 'B' in an 'ology'...of the Bio kind!

Well done Gussy, this is your day!
