Work hard and be nice to people

1. I head over to see Jess and on the way I pop in to what used to be Oddbins just below her flat. When it closed, the people who own the other places next to it decided to re-open it as wine shop and re-employed the Oddbins girls. I like a good story with a happy ending.

2. We have cava mixed with a french liqueur that I've never tasted before. There's not much that makes a fizz nicer, but this did. On the way out Jess points out her new poster hanging on her stairs. Work hard and be nice to people is what it says. Sounds like a good idea to me.

3. We are not early. We're not even on time, but we're still first to the party. I think there might have been a time when this bothered me, but I notice that it doesn't anymore. Not even remotely.

4. We're at Hip Replacement. This is a club night run by Diane every few months in bowling clubs round the city. It's a club for people who can't be arsed with clubs. For folk that just want to dance without any girls in bits of string or packs of drunk guys (young people) making you feel self conscious. It's a place to dance any way you want to songs you know all the words to, and it's all done by eleven.

5. There's a lot of photos taken. Most of them make me burst out laughing but not a single one is in focus. This is me dancing, possibly by myself and I am certainly singing along. You won't be able to see it, but if you could you'd notice that no one was batting an eyelid.
