Baa baa black sheep, have you any wool?
We drove out to the local hillsides this morning to walk another set of footpaths new to me. The pastures are lush at the moment after all the rain, in fact water is standing in some of the fields. Thankfully it was dry and even sunny and warm(ish) for our walk. The farmlands are surrounded by higher ground which rises up to the moors, really lovely North Yorkshire countryside. This flock were very friendly and full of curiosity. I was amused to see just this one very black sheep running with the large flock. They are intrigued by Bracken and come in close to stare. As soon as you move they're off!
Later this afternoon I baked a cake and then we went around the usual 'square' of fields. We're looking after 2 sets of hens at the moment so there will be more baking to use the surfeit of wonderful eggs. Boiled eggs are certainly on the menu!
