Knackered and unashamed

An unashamed emergency blip. I can't figure out what makes it an emergency blip any more, it's only half-past five so there's the whole evening to go still. I guess if I do take any Ben pictures I might change it later!!

This is my snack. Houmous on toast (spread with a fork because the two knives I have upstairs are in the washing up bowl and I can't be bothered washing them just yet) topped with some concoction of chopped peppers and cherry tomatoes and grated cheese. Is quite nice, it's my usual combination of ingredients for a snack, just combined slightly differently as I had the salady stuff left over from the weekend. I'm going to eat Ben's cake too as it's cut now - I thought he'd woken up, but he just rolled over and has gone back to sleep. (I'll cut him some more cake when he does wake up.)

He is asleep in his bed, bare-bottomed, on a towel (I'm not stupid). He rejected the idea of a nappy. He has missed the potty twice today because of his pants, and I didn't bother putting any back on him again after the last incident. Shame on me - and I bribed him into wearing pants this morning (as opposed to going naked) by refusing to build him a train track until he put them on!

We have had a pyjama day today. I am utterly exhausted and have actually been really glad that the builders DIDN'T come and pour the concrete for the dining room floor today. It's being poured tomorrow come what may - if the concrete lorry driver bails on our builder again, he's coming anyway and will mix some here. As long as he does so outside I do not care! I have managed to hoover some of the downstairs, and I've hoovered the stairs as well. Ben shouted at me a few times to stop because it was too loud - the first time he basically told me I was disturbing the baby. (I'm not sure how he figured that one out, he said it wasn't Baby Jake the tv show anyway) I was told to shush for a little while!! The second time I was told off because it was just too loud, and the third time he gave up yelling at me from the top of the stairs and came down to tell me off.

We have moved the camping stuff upstairs, along with the toaster and kettle. I have given up on trying to use the kitchen. We have got a coolbox plugged into the mains which is looking after the few fridgeables we need on a day-to-day basis, the camping stove which Steve can set up tonight once we've figured out where our kitchenette is going to be, and of course all the camping pots and pans which we used over the weekend. It'll be fun! Could do with a microwave really, we should go and get a new one as our old one is dead. (And I can't blame the dust either, it died before the building work started.)

I just discovered that if you forget that you've eaten grapefruit earlier and haven't washed your hands since eating it, and then feel strange and think you ought to do a blood test to see what your blood sugar is like, it does make for a very wrong reading.

Always wash your hands after eating! Trying to remember that you have eaten is also a good one too...
