........you hear the insect's song............

Got this image early this morning......I have no idea what it is.......some sort of wasp or sawfly?..........if anyone knows please put me out of my misery and tell me.

After taking this photo and googling for an hour to try and find out what it is.....I went to have my hair cut......on strict orders from the Boss. My normal barbers, a no nonesense kind of place, is closed, for some unknown reason. So......I went to the Boss' hairdressers....for an 11.00 appointment with Jill......I know, I know, a lady's hairdresser......if the boys ever find out the piss taking will be merciless and long lived.........mind you that might be the case from some of you as well!

Any way, it was all very nice and civilised.....I was offered a coffee, but declined.....my hair was sprayed with some pink stuff.....and then Jill put some kind of curved toothed grippy things in my hair.....and set to with the scissors....every so often she moved one of the grippy things and started cutting in a new place. 15 minutes....done....cost £5....less than the normal place....given a loyalty card!!!!!!....a cheery goodbye and "see you again soon" and I was heading home.

And do you know what?.....she could be right....no waiting....quick, efficient.....and the Boss really likes it!!!

She liked it so much she let me drive her to Asda and push the trolley for her!
To be fair though she did let me go fishing about 4.00 and cooked a lovely steak, prawn and salad dinner when I got home.

Thanks to scootipede who tells me it's an Ichneumon fly....almost impossible to identify it exactly as there are at least 2000 species in Britain!
