.........twisted fire starter.........

Maybe it's the talk of the up coming BBQ for the kids but today we had our first fire just for the hell of it.....we've had a few fires over the Summer to get rid of discarded line that we've picked up or rubbish left on the car park....but today Gordon lit a small fire just because he felt like it.

Sam, Shaun, Gordon, Charlie and Roy all go to the ponds every day except Wednesday....obviously I can't go when I'm at work............it's a bit like Last of the Summer Wine....they do bits of jobs, drink tea and sit and shoot the breeze.

When the winter comes on it gets a tad chilly....so they have a gas fire and a calor bottle..........and sometimes they make toast on the fire.......but what we all like best of all is a fire....often in a brazier...........and then the frying pan comes out for bacon butties!!!! Strangely that's usually on a Saturday when I'm there....and I end up cooking......come to think of it I've done the kids BBQ for the last 4 years....and guess who's doing it again this year?

Not been a good day weather wise....so not much has happened:-

Went to the bait shop.
Then to the ponds for a couple of hours.
Home for lunch.
Watched some athletics.
The Boss and Daughter went out.
Had a little kip....well why the hell not!
A Dakota overflew the house.
Did a little bit of work ready for Monday.
Lamb Rogan Josh for dinner.
Just chilling now.
Relatively early night....up at 6.15 tomorrow...for the match...not looking forward to it much...went for a sneaky practice on Wednesday and caught sod all.

The water is starting to cool down and the fish are slowing down in their eating....they've all fattened up for winter and are becoming sluggish....so tomorrow the best bait might be pinkies......small maggots....and yes they are coloured flourescent pink....but will take maggots and worms just in case. Five hour match and then home to a roast pork dinner and all the family.
