I'm sorry, so sorry.......
A thousand apologies.
I made an error with last night's blip.
All right, allright, give a guy a break. It's only once in a blue moon!!!
I mistakenly said that the timer ran for 37 minutes, when I got to work today several people couldn't wait to point out my error to me...."It's not 37 minutes, it's 57 minutes".
So we checked. Jill and Stacey, the technicians set it up and timed it.... not once but twice.
And the result?
It runs for exactly 58 minutes and 14 seconds!
So that solves the question of what it is. It's obviously a not 100% accurate hour glass. We still don't know what it was used for.
Perhaps a teacher in the dim and distant past used it to time lessons?
Perhaps it was used to time a particular experiment that had to run for 1 hour?
Perhaps it was used to time the boiling of an ostrich egg!!!
Ok, ok, I'm being silly now, it's still a wonderous object and it's attracted a fair amount of interest since I blipped it.
On other fronts:- V's mum is still with them but fading slowly, I'm totally knackered after 3 days at work, England have just won 4-0 and tomorrow I'm going to Salford to blip the new bridge being built over the quays.
Watch this space, but not too closely in case I make another slight error!!!
