Wester Hailes after class

First woodwork class tonight at Wester Hailes Education Centre. Seems to be affectionately known as the Whec, so I guess that's what I'll call it.

Walking into the workshop was magic. Just inside the door are several workstations for metalwork, then in the second section workbenches for wood, and then a further wood and metalwork section. Great old-school workshop in an old school.

Left at 8:30pm, crossed a busy dual carriageway to the shopping centre to catch my bus home, and scanned the open shops for somewhere to get change: a chippie, 2 bookies and what appeared to be a general store. But on walking in to the general store, I found it was an armoured off-sales: everything behind toughened glass and you have to ask for the goods through a grille. It's a long time since I've been in a shop like that.
