Over the horizon

At the top of our road we can get into the Penicuik Estate and walk to the High Pond. There is a small hill and as the top is reached the world seems to open up. The Pentlands are there, the houses of Penicuik can be seen and the Firth of Forth is in the distance.

For a while I've tried to get a photo that gives some impression of the delight as these views materialise and today, for some unknown reason, it seems to work better than before.
