Today's the day .......................... to recognise an old friend

I was in one of the big shopping centres in Edinburgh today when I came upon this beautiful little car - and the memories came flooding back.

We had one just like it - same colour even - back in the 70's. I well remember the day when we were driving along and the back doors fell off because the wood had rotted away. It was easy to fix though because Will could just replace the rotten wood with a new bit - and they were as good as new.

We put a new engine in it when the old one packed in. I say 'new' but probably 'newer' would be a better word. Will also replaced the front wings with fibre glass ones. Unfortunately, I then inadvertantly drove it into a parked car (but that's another story!) and wrote it off.

Ah, those were the days .......................
