Circle of Life.
After telling you all about the parasitic wasp that had infested some of my caterpillars I found when checking them this morning another group of yellow cocoons and then spotted this one with the larva burrowing out from inside the caterpillar.
Obviously it is really gross but I have to admit that I am fascinated by it. It is also ironic that they share the same life cycle. Both are eggs, then larva/caterpillar then pupa in cocoon/chrysalis then emerge as butterfly/wasp. Shame one feeds on the other to do it but then that is part of the circle of life.
A blustery day here and we are off for a walk in a minute. Will no doubt end up at the sea.
