Day 2 - Tiburon / San Francisco

Breakfast in bed after a very good sleep, then caught the 10.40 ferry across the Bay to San Francisco, passing Alcatraz (looking moody and solemn as ever) and the Golden Gate Bridge. Walked from the Ferry Building to Union Square, stopping at evil Starbucks for a mug, and after J stocked up on Benefit goodies we had cheesecake in... The Cheesecake Factory of course.

Then joined the queue for the cable car and before long were grinding our way up and down the city's streets ready for the sailing back to Tiburon. Sat outside on the deck of the hotel drinking (local) wine and nibbling cheese, grateful that we chose to stay here rather than in the city - a much more relaxing start to the holiday, especially as we did SF properly years ago.

Just back from dinner in a local bistro having had perfectly cooked chicken and lamb dishes with a glass of Pinot Noir. On to the wine country tomorrow.
