The rise of silver surfer
We went to Gullane today and had lunch in a the quaint village tea room. I love places like that, it had all manner of ob de ja, (not sure how to spell that) and church pews for seats. I hade excellent tomato and mascepone soup followed by quite possibly the best millionaires short bread that I have ever tasted.
The tea was proper tea leaves for a change and we had to use the little strainers when it was poured out of the tea pot.
However, while in the tea room, a man and his partner came in and every thing about him said Alan Davies, his accent was identical as was his mannerisms. He looked older but if Alan Davies has an older brother and he drives a lexus then there is a good chance this was him.
Happened to see a stunning little hall table in the towns bethany shop and after paying the princely sum of £45 its now sitting at the top landing of my stairs.
Did my little good dead for today by helping a lady lift a little nest of tables into her car and by sending a email picture from my phone to her daughter in fort william for which they were a present. Felt particular well being considering it was such a simple act, but its nice to unashamably just be a little helpful for no reason other than you can.
Seen a squished toad on the road which almost made todays selection until something better came along.
We had some time on the beach with the dogs but it was blowing too much of a gale down there to linger too long. Long enough however to capture some images of the kite surfers.
Slightly further along the coast at Longniddry bents, I was able to catch the rise of the silver surfer as when the two kite surfers came ashore one of them was about 103 years old. Good on ya old fella, theres life in the old dog yet.
Quote of the day:
Connie: I'd like to get married again
Me: Who To ?
Had a jolly good day all things told, but tomorrows my last day of my holiday from work and its back to normality. Hmmm
