Ile Maurice -BBQ

We enjoyed a sumptuous Mauritian BBQ tonight on our hols. It was made by one of the cooks and a team of folks presented multiple courses and even more dishes. Way too much food really but superbly well done. Fish courses, meat courses, vegetables and even specially cooked wheat-free food for Mrs S. The chefs here have done a great job in providing a wide choice of wheat-free meals which we really appreciate. Some great fish courses - calamari; Captain fish; octupus; mussels; and tandoori tuna.

The photo is of a bottle of champagne being opened using a cutlass (all very pirate-like!). It was quite spectacular. I reckon they will need to trawl the pool pretty well in the morning as that is where the cork and a fair bit of glass from the top of the bottle went! This was the second take on the photo. Mrs S opened the first bottle in the same way but I carelessly spilt a glass of her champagne and that cost me another bottle to make up for the missing bubbly.

Off on a trip tomorrow so will see a bit more of the island.
