Hidden Away

A trip to the Barnsley Digital Media centre where I was doing a talk saw me walk into a huge cold unwelcoming foyer, and true to being about digital media there was very little to touch or to look at in the flesh - save for this rather interesting structure tucked away in a corner and very badly displayed. Two information panels cannot be avoided as you look through him, ruining the image. But it is an interesing sculpture but neglected. teh figure insideseems to have been sat on a swing, but the swing has collapsed and the figure leans against the wall of the stomach. I don't think this is what the artist intended. But, though you can't see it in this photo, the metalwork is comprised of hundreds of little objects. Some lovely telling details. But I felt sad that something so tactile felt abandoned in its digital surroundings.
