Vendange

This is the second trailer-load of grapes that a dozen of us picked by hand this morning with our friends who are making their second vintage of wine - we helped them pick the grapes for their first last year. They have had vines in the family for generations but have always before taken their grapes to a cooperative, so this is an exciting new venture and we feel very privileged to be involved with it in a very small way. They have done the assemblage of last year's wine (mixing the varieties of grapes used) but it may not be ready for bottling for a few months yet.
