This is my favourite local olive oil. Before I moved to France nine years ago, it hadn't occurred to me that there were many different varieties of olive oil. I'd never tasted a single variety oil.

In nearby Clermont l'Herault you can visit the olive co-operative and taste many different single variety oils, ranging from mild to peppery to nutty.

This oil is the Picholine which has tiny round olives. We're lucky enough to have several Picholine olive trees in our vineyard. I'll try to remember to blip them.
