The Calm after the Romp
I arrived home later this afternoon than I had originally planned. I just got busy at the campus, so I was 45 or so minutes late opening the garage door and backing my car "Snow White" into the garage. When I turned-off the engine and opened the door, I could hear the three pooches in the house barking like crazy because they knew what the garage door opening and the sound of the car engine means. I grabbed my things from the trunk and entered the house.
They started barking and prancing and dancing and whining. They are an amazing "welcoming committee"! If I'm not wearing super fine clothes, I know the best reaction from me is to go sit on the sofa and let the licking begin. Then all three jump to be on my lap. They each make their own special song of groaning, growling, or whining as they step all over me. Mr. Fun just stands back and watches all the action. I usually get the giggles and then I start laughing and that just makes the dogs more crazy.
Eventually they each one calm down, unwind, and begin chewing on one of their toys or one of the bones we keep for them to naw. Today Max jumped off the sofa and crossed the family room to snuggle into his bed and snooze. Chloe stayed on my lap to snooze. Mitzi was just the other side of me mesmerized as I rubbed her tummy. Mr. Fun made me an iced coffee and we all enjoyed a long leisurely moment together. I'm not sure why those moments feel so relaxing, so comforting, but they do -- all worries, troubles, and cares disappear.
So the two photos I've collaged together this evening are nothing to write home about, but Chloe, Mitzi, and Max give me lots to write about.
And the new Mac in yesterday's photo (yes that's me in the photo too) is going to assist me in the writing as I get more and more comfortable using it. I'm anxious to also learn all that I can do with my photos on the new Mac. Yes it will be a learning curve, but I think I am a good student, if I have a good teacher. So I'll be spending some moments soon back at the Apple Store getting proficient on my new toy tool!
Good night from Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun, and Chloe, Mitzi, and Max), aka Carol
