Mr Grumps Life in Photos

By MrGrumps

Home for now..

Even if I would ever have wanted to predict the events of this week, I couldn't have. After been told yesterday that Dexter's leg was 'dead' and that today it would have to amputated, I phoned my vet today to be told that it appeared that circulation seemed to be returning and there was no evidence of gangrene. Based on this the plan is to send him to the specialist to see if his leg actually can be fixed!

This evening my wife and I went to pick up Dexter so he can stay at home overnight before I take him tomorrow morning. We rented the large cage to keep him in, and the surgery gave us a special gift for our cat; a 'donut' cat bed, collar, toy, and food. Dexter is a star, they love him, and have taken loads of photos for their 'pet of the month'.

Like proud (but worried) parents we smile and carry him carefully home, after thanking the vets for looking after him so well.

At home Dexter is a wiggly worm, wanting to re-aquaint himself with his house. The other cats sit nearby and give him the 'oh, so you're back then' look. Monty of course sniffs him and then licks him; pleased to see his buddy home.

He gets cuddles all around, and then we finally put him in the cage to contain him and let him rest.

Considering everything else that's happened this week, we don't know what to expect from tomorrow. But for now, he's home, and that will do for today.

For the first time in 4 days we dare to smile.
