Seeking Shelter

This morning the tugs Husky and Maersk Promotor performed the magic trick of changing out their tows without the assistance of a third tug. First, we put two men on our barge by our Fast Rescue Boat, then we disconnected from our tow and hung off the bridle on the bow of the barge. We left our own barge drifting in the Bali Sea with our two crew still on board and moved over to the Maersk Promotor to take over her tow. The Maersk Promotor then shifted to our barge and our crew handed over the pick-up wire again. The Fast Rescue Boat picked up our crew again from the barge and now we are on our way back to Batam, Indonesia and the Maersk Promotor on her way to Australia.
During the morning the wind picked up to 25 knots and in order to prevent accidents with retrieving our Fast Rescue Boat back on board, we sought shelter behind our own tow. You can clearly see that this barge is considerable bigger than our previous tow!
