Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Gardenia

If this flower's fragrance could be captured into this blip, you'd stay right here taking deep breaths of this intoxicating scent. When the entire gardenia bush blooms white, the walkway to the front porch is veiled in perfume and it's lovely.

Lovely is a good description of this day . . . morning lasted for hours with a light blanket of gray skies and when the sun finally broke through the air was cool and refreshing all afternoon. Even though I spent most of the afternoon in the house working on student papers, their emails, and up-coming classes, I was fully aware that the outdoors was flirting with me, so I did my best to resist with just an occasional walk out onto the upstairs deck. Mr. Fun watered the garden, brushed the pool, and watched the Singapore Grand Prix, and the pooches, well they mostly snoozed, dog-piled a little, and snuck a snuggle whenever they could distract me.

It's been a lovely final Sunday of September.
October is rounding the corner and about to pull into our driveway!
Good night from Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol

P.S. Thanks for the fun comments on yesterday's blip about Jim Henson. When our son was a little tyke, he used to play a Sesame Street record over and over . One of the cuts was Burt and Ernie having cookies and milk and one of them opens the door and a herd of cows comes through as the character says, "Cows! Your call those cows? These are cows!" and the sound of a door opening and cows mooing. The two of us used to listen from down the hallway from his childhood bedroom as the record player played and we'd giggle and teehee as we heard that crazy stupid story song. You just had too be there! We sure wish we could find a copy of that.
