Learning day by day

Doh!

William didn't realise that sunglasses are to be worn over the eyes. Not surprising really as Mummy often ends up with hers as a hairband.

This morning Carys said 'Mummy this thing on my Thumb hurts.' A quick inspection later revealed 8 blisters and a couple of mouth ulcers. Hand, foot and mouth strikes again. So after another horrible night I had both of them at home today.

To be fair to Carys, she has been really good. This morning she chose to do some practise writing, while William coloured in. I rang school and we walked up there around eleven to pick up what would have been her homework. She immediately got on with writing the numbers, then we had lunch.

After lunch We finished writing to C, the little girl Carys made friends with on holiday. We then walked into town to post it. When we got home Carys did all the other work school had sent home without any fuss. While she was doing that I read up on H., F. and mouth and read that whilst pre-schoolers have to be isolated as it makes them unwell. School age kids are rarely ill from it and therefore don't need to be excluded from school. Carys is as right as rain apart from a sore mouth and the blisters on her hands, so a quick call to school made her day as they agreed to have her back tomorrow.

Now I am hoping, fingers crossed, that we may be ahead of the homework game, as she wasn't expected to return until Monday. Time will tell.
