Soft and strong
It was mid afternoon when I walked across to the canal today. Not my usual time.
I think I prefer the freshness of the morning upon the canal. Still plenty of people enjoying this, another sunny day, but a slightly different mix to the early morning walkers. They could more rightly be described as strollers. Young couples, the males with their shirts off, the females in flip-flops. There were more than a few pairs of baggy shorts that had probably been recently put away with the holiday gear but a quick rummage had them out once again.
This sunshine must, in some small part, be doing its' bit in contributing towards the recovery of the enonomy. We all feel so much better for it and want to make the most of it. Who wouldn't?! Turnover within restaurants and pubs will have increased, especially those in picturesque, rural locations. A friend of mine who has more than one pub, serving award winning beers, can't chip enough potatoes when the sun shines.
There are many things we can live without, but food and drink, cooked and served by someone else in pleasant surroundings is not one of them.
Right, I think that's me off out later!
