Woke up right before I had to leave for the welcome bbq for all the Vietnamese exchange students. For some reason I am the youngest International Friend in the program, which is odd to me considering how lax and wonderful the program is. I figured a plethora of CSU students would jump on this volunteer opportunity... Anyway, I found no trouble in making friends with the students I spoke with. They said it was refreshing being able to talk with an American their own age. We quickly exchanged facebooks, phone numbers, and made plans to hangout in the future. Later that day, I received a text from Mai saying that a few of them would love to have dinner with me that night. So I cleaned up my place, cooked some donkey on a platform, and picked up my new found friends from their apartment which is only a block away haha. They brough over delicious Vietnamese food and we chatted about everything from Disney to slave labor to Nationalism to Napolean. I love these new friendships I have made, and I am ecstatic to see where go.
