Columbia University

We attended a free concert at Columbia University in New York City early this evening, and leaving at 7:15 pm this was the scene.

It's the center of the campus, at 116th Street. The large, brightly lit building in the background is Butler Library, the main research library where I spent many hours during my doctoral studies in the late 1960s.

In the afternoon I went to the Metropolitan Museum, where I spent most of my time at exhibitions of works on paper.
