Clenched
First, thanks for some really wonderful comments on the weekend's blips. I love this engagement, and I will be responding as soon as I can, but the piece of work that took over my day yesterday is proving troublesome and, sadly, I have to give that priority tonight.
I've always been aware of this tree growing literally right out of the crags, but today I broke off from my run to have a proper look for the very first time. It involved a minor scramble to get this shot, and then a slightly more interesting one to scale the crag completely once I realised there was a line of weakness. I now have a new ascent route to the top cairn! There is no fancy processing tonight. The colour tones on these gritstone outcrops are for real, and this is one mighty strong oak tree. It clearly hasn't had the easiest journey in life. I have much respect.
Finally, here's an interesting and unexpected phenomenon. My two sons, one just turned twenty, the other very nearly eighteen, have become addicted to a TV show that revolves around ballroom dancing! I've not yet actually caught them practicing any moves as such (in time though I'm sure!), but they seem riveted to every act. The worrying thing is that I feel myself getting sucked in too! Is it worth trying to resist, or should I just give up now, relax, and write off a few more hours of valuable time each week? !!
