Olvera Street
We spent the time before the start of our daughter's volleyball game against LA Harbor (which her team won in three straight sets) at Olvera Street across the street from Union Station in downtown Los Angeles. It was a little like downtown Zihuatanejo, only a bit cleaner and much cooler. We saw some of the same products in the stalls filling Olvera Street, but managed to resist buying them knowing that it would be cheaper to buy them at the source. It did make us miss our adopted town. I photographed this wheel detail in the firehouse museum at the end of the street. The building was constructed in 1884 and the wagon has been restored to reflect what it looked like during that period.
