Palm Husk

Every once in while, one of the date palms in our neighborhood will drop a husk. The husks have a ribbed interior with deep, intense colors. They always cause me to pause on my morning walk to buy a newspaper and take a look. Invariably I vow to return with my camera, but rarely make it before the yard services cart them away. Today, I finally got myself in gear and captured the colors and textures of this husk's insides.
