The tiny town of Choteau Montana

Along the front range of the Montana Rockies there are no big cities, and scarcely any towns at all numbering more than a few hundred people. It is a great empty space in America. Nestled between the enormous windy northern plains and the wild backbone of the Rockies this region is a bit of a hinterland. It feels a little untamed, untrammeled and very free.

For me it reminds me of when I lived in another tiny western town between the plains in the mountains in Buffalo Wyoming years ago after college. There is something a little magical and timeless about these forgotten little pieces of Americana, down to the vintage cars and old timey movie theaters...
