What is it?
Yesterday we went to messy play. Elizabeth was in old clothes, so she could get as messy as she liked. But it seems she's still not fond of getting too messy, which I don't mind.
She painted quite a lot, and drew pictures. She played in the Wendy House, sticking her head out the windows saying "pee boo mummy".
At one point another little girl, who is only a month older than Elizabeth, had a major tantrum. She was rolling around the floor screaming and kicking her legs. Elizabeth watched her with great interest, then lay down near to her and started to roll over from side to side. I couldn't help but laugh. I felt so bad for the other mum, and I shouldn't laugh because that could be us in another month's time.
Later the little girl ran over to the side of the room and banged the palms of her hand on the wall. Elizabeth took this to be some sort of chasing game and followed her over there too.
A little less amusing thing for me was when Elizabeth tried to copy a boy who was painting his feet... Elizabeth still had her socks on! But I knew she was going to try it, because she had been watching him closely, so I was able to catch her before she got too much paint on her socks.
Today we went to the city. "Ah (I) going city daddy".
At one point when we were waiting to cross the road, two police officers on patrol joined us waiting. Elizabeth said "mee maw" when she saw them! How she knows that I do not know! One of the police officers was eating something from a paper bag. When he finished it he crumpled the bag up ready to put it in a bin. Elizabeth said "Ah (I) have it!"
This evening, in the house (after her "very tasty" tea), Elizabeth demanded "holding hands" with mummy and daddy. She took us upstairs and wanted into the study. When she got in (she can open the doors herself now) she climbed on my chair and found a bag of safety plug socket covers that were sat on my desk. She picked up the bag and asked "what is it?"
Today's blip is when she ran behind the sofa and announced that she was "hiding". I came through to find her and she laughed her head off, then chased after me for a hug!
I am so proud of my little girl. Her language is coming along so well. She is even correcting herself and now saying "where is mummy?" instead of "where mummy is".
Everyday there is something new and wonderful to experience. I can't wait for number 2 to come along! (39 weeks today!)
