Spooky Seals

This is part of a nature reserve between Santa Cruz and San Francisco called Ano Nuevo. It was dairy farm that became a nature reserve when it was given to the State by the owners. Shortly after that, it became a favourite haunt of elephant seals. We saw lots of those today, but I was rather taken with this lighthouse keeper's house which was abandonned and taken over by sealions.

Bit of a gloomy day today, but the sun came out when we arrived in San Francisco, so everyone was in good spirits to celebrate Katherine's 7th birthday. We celebrated her 2nd birthday here too, so there's a nice symmetry to the day.
